Kennedy, Jr. in 1996, it was Gordon Henderson who designed the groom's suit and he handled all the details of the wedding itself. When Carolyn went to put on her bespoke $40,000 gown on the wedding day, she couldn't get it over her head. And as she grew more and more hysterical, it was Gordon Henderson who came to the rescue. He took the bride into the bathroom, put a scarf over her head, and then the dress slipped on much easier. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 1983, Henderson worked as an assistant for Calvin Klein, and in 1987, he launched his own label. The New York Times called him the strongest of the new young talents. He was known for dressing working women, and he once said, quote, my success comes from the bottom up. I feel like I'm communicating with the woman on the street, the working woman. I want them to get excited about real life.
