I was JFK Jr.'s chief of staff and dear friend for five years, and I got to know Carolyn really well. And Carolyn has become this fashion icon. She's having this resurgence, which I love. But I think we take Carolyn's fashion way more seriously than she did. I went shopping with Carolyn many times, and it was an adventure. She loved to go and find things. It was almost like a field trip, like, let's go find something. And I remember this one time we ended up at the Gap, and we were in the kids' section. She always said, they have the cutest things in the kids' section. You just buy it in extra large. And there was this t-shirt in the kids' section, and we both got it. And it said princess on it, in cursive. And then it had a little caricature of a shoe with a little princess head sticking out of it. And we both got one. And we'd wear them with a cardigan, or a jacket, or a fancy skirt. She loved to mix match high-low. She was the high-low queen, and I love that about her. And I still do.
